Privacy Policy

What we collect

When you create an account we collect your name and email address through Clerk, our authentication provider. You may sign in with your email or with a Google account; in either case only the name and email from that account are stored. Once you are signed in, we store the solar project and permit data you enter — jurisdiction, permit numbers, milestone dates, and any notes you add.

We do not collect payment information. We do not use cookies for tracking; our analytics provider (Ahrefs Web Analytics) is cookieless and does not fingerprint individual users.

How we use it

Your name and email are used solely to identify your account and, if you opt in, to send permit status alert emails when milestones are due. Your project and permit data is used solely to power the tracker dashboard you use. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their marketing purposes.

Processors

We work with the following sub-processors, each of which handles your data only as necessary to provide the service:

• •Clerk — authentication. Stores your email, name, and session tokens.
• •Railway — application hosting and database. Stores all account and project data.
• •Cloudflare — CDN and DDoS protection. Routes traffic to the application; sees IP addresses and request metadata.
• •Resend / Amazon SES — transactional email delivery for permit alert emails you opt into.
• •Ahrefs Web Analytics — cookieless, privacy-preserving traffic statistics. Does not track individual users across sessions.

Data retention and deletion

We retain your account and project data for as long as your account is active. To request deletion of your account and all associated data, email [email protected] with the subject line “Delete my account.” We will process your request within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be communicated by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, by email. Continued use of PermitClock after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
